Ian,
All went well for the launch of our F-boat 'Quick Sand'. The day before the launch I towed the boat some 200km from Toowoomba (Queensland) to RQYS (Brisbane) behind my Holden Commodore S/Wagon (3.8LV6, with inflatable shockers). Being a little apprehensive about the tow and whether or not my vehicle was suitable, I took it slowly at first. But, as I gained the feel for towing what is a fairly large object, I found towing a breeze. A few last minute jobs Friday afternoon and the boat was ready(?) for launch on Saturday.
Saturday started with mast raising and a few more last minute jobs. The boat was then backed to the waters edge; bubbly poured on the bow; a few words from my wife Sandy; a gentle shove and Quick Sand was afloat. After a little more bubbly and lunch I took the family for a ride.
With seven onboard (6 with no sailing experience) I decided to take it quietly, sailing under jib only and motoring when necessary. My family and I could not be happier.
Thanks,
Glenn
