The drawings are now complete and available for the new F-82 daggerboard rudder. This new rudder can be used on both aft cockpit and aft cabin versions, and could also be adapted to fit the F-24, F-25A and F-28. A special 'shear out case' allows the blade to kick back should it hit bottom to avoid any damage to the boat or gudgeons.
A daggerboard rudder can be deeper, offers better control, has less surface area, and the ability to lift rudder up for enjoyable shallow water sailing, without the heavy helm associated with kick up rudders. The traditional tiller is standard, a remote steering linkage to move tiller forward is optional.
Construction is all epoxy carbon fiber, with carbon fiber gudgeons, the only metal part necessary being the pivot pin, which runs in oversize teflon/acetal bearings, for long life, and a totally slop free helm. This new rudder is very light, and an even deeper rudder is optional for racers.
