F-82 In Argentina

Pablo Fernandez has now launched his F-82, and writes:

Dear Ian,

Finally my F-82 was launched in mid-March, although still not finished. I´m still waiting for the mast, meanwhile I´m installing the deck hardware, nets, and finishing the interior. The boat will be mooring in a Marina, folded (fresh water). The bowsprit will be "folded style" (something like F-82 "Trojka"), due to the interference with the V-berth. (my wife loves to sleep there while moored!). I´ve started with a slide companion hatch, and then used it to do a Pop-Top, so it is smaller than that in the plans, but still great.

The mast is not a wing section mast, but it will rotate. Since I will not use a trailer, it will have a furler for the jib, a top-down furler for screacher-spinnaker, and the main with lazy bag. I think that I´ll be sailing in something like 5 minutes from the marina. The down side: the antifouling in the floats.

As you may recall, it´s the first F-boat here, and it is receiving a lot of attention. Lot of people is waiting to see how it´ll perform. One of my best "supporters" is Carlos Bunge, F-82 number 145, and I think he´ll start his boat soon.

I like how it looks, and can´t wait to have the mast! Thank you again for the support; and thank you for a great design.

With Regards.

Pablo.
