Larry Woods will be taking part in the Ontario 300 this year, which sounds like it could be an interesting event, and Larry writes:
The Lake Ontario 300 is shaping up rather nicely as of late. Ron White called me a few weeks ago and asked if I was going to do it, and after that conversation, I decided this was the year. At that time there were only 5 entries. Today we stand at there are 9 and we are still waiting on a couple more guys who are on the fence. Could shape up to be a really good and competitive fleet.
So far we have the following boats entered.
Colin Wartman F-9A Proclivity
Tom Reese F-28R flight Simulator
Jamie Hallman F-25C Knot Krazy
Richard Stevens F-28cc Trevelyan
Larry Woods F-82R Exodus
Ron White F-31mod Cheekee Monkee
Matt Sharl F-25C Gamera
James Frederick F-28 Big Storm
Mark Cadette F-25C Acipiter (not registered but told me he was in)
Still waiting to hear from
Rob Cajolet F-25C Tripy
Todd Howe F-25C ????? if they get it done in time!!
Lots of others might be thinking about it. Now is the time to get on the band wagon.
All are more than welcome to use TMCC for trailer storage and launching. It is a 25 minute drive from Port Credit and about a 90 minute motor by water. I offer because I am not sure of the facilities at Port Credit Yacht club. Also the week-end prior to the 300 is the TMCC regatta. Should also be a great turn out with a mix of off shore racing and cruising multihulls and beach cats. Had a great week-end of racing last year. A real crazy tight racing week-end in Toronto’s Outer Harbour. The Week-end after the 300 is the Youngstown NY Level regatta, so it could be a great July of racing.
Please email me if you have any question or are thinking about coming for any of these great events. If not I will see you all at the Bay City Yacht Club in late August for the Great Lakes Multihull Championship!
