A record sixty four Farrier designs took part in the 2000 Corsair Nationals, at the fabulous new location of Fort Walton Beach. The event was hugely successful and numbers are expected to grow, particularly as the many attractive features of the Fort Walton area become known.
This year the event was organized and run by Paula and Randy Smyth (THE SMYTH TEAM) who raised the standards to a new higher level, and special thanks to them and all the competitors, some who came from as far away as England and Sweden. The British in fact won their class in a chartered F-28R.
The Speed Seminar earlier in the week by the Smyth Team was very popular and useful to many, while guest speakers Bert Kornyei (offshore cruising), Torbjörn Linderson (Marström Carbon masts) and Dave Calvert (sails) had a captive audience at the Fort Walton Beach Yacht Club.

Getting ready for the first start

Race headquarters at Leeside Park - this is located right next to the Leeside Inn, which is very convenient for
skippers and crews. The beach area (just to the left) is sheltered and huge, and could easily handle another 40
or so boats above the 64 attending this years event.
